Mobile Health Unit

In the early years of our operation, Outreach Community Health Centers (OCHC) was known as Healthcare for the Homeless. The delivery of care to those experiencing homelessness remains at the heart of the Outreach mission.

Homeless persons die years earlier than those who are housed and often from conditions that are easily treatable.

The pandemic brought attention to well-documented disparities in health outcomes and risks for specific populations, and highlighted need to conduct assertive, non-traditional engagement with people in affected communities to address those disparities.

Our Mobile Health Unit offers a way to improve access to care for vulnerable people and help people live longer, healthier lives.

Health Care on the Move

Outreach’s Mobile Health Unit establishes a regular rotation of service delivery to residents of area shelters and supportive housing programs, as well as food pantries, meal programs, and other places that provide services and support to those who may be struggling to meet basic needs.
